Yet another movie scene with slinging

Apologies for not digging out one of the original threads on this, but here's a not very good battle scene with Romans, and some slingers. A Roman officer dodges slingstones helmetless.

*Slingstones coming in*
*Takes off helmet*

...

*Gets over wall*
*Throws down shield*
*Second guy throws away scabbard*

Ah! Roman discipline!

Otter, are you suggesting movies arent historically accurate? I refuse to believe that...

Quite the opposite! I'm glad they included these ancient fighting techniques. It's like with Lord of the Rings. Great pains were taken to ensure the fighting was accurate like when Legolas slid down the stairs on that shield in The Two Towers whilst shooting arrows. I think that comes from a 16th century manuscript. The name escapes me but it was something like "Totally Rad Battle Techniques to Impress Your Friends"...

Ahh, ok. I stand corrected sir. Yes, Legolas was an amazing warrior/surfer. But the real heros were the camera men who followed them into battle.

(All kidding aside would you believe I was going to follow up my original comment with a comment about legolas sliding down the stairs?? LOL. Clearly we have issues.... AWESOME ISSUES.)

Ha! Well that scene is pretty cool if somewhat less than realistic... I don't let historical inaccuracies ruin films for me but it is interesting to see films and games try to get that extra bit of realism.
