Huamán Poma de Ayala was a descendant of Incan nobility who lived in the first decades after the Spanish conquest. He wrote a massive book called Nueva corónica y buen gobierno (New Chronicle and Good Government - 1615), which contains almost 400 full-page drawings. Here are some of the drawings that depict slings:

The First Captain picture has a sling similar to a Balearic.
