Glue as aid to stop abrasion?

I recently tried using some fabric glue in areas of a sling I made that usually are prone to abrasion, area where you would add whipping, and below the release knot. It seems to have worked very well, I have used it a bit and see no abrasion, but it made it a bit stiffer. Any thoughts on this or personal experiences? Maybe better ways like wax?

I've used Shoe Goo in the past. It doesn't dry perfectly clear but works well against abrasion. Might need to try the E6000.

Now that's a good idea. I never thought to use glue or something similar. I'll need to try this out.

When I used it on my seat belt slings. I usually use the paracord inners to do the whip stitching. I dab some of tge e6000. Then spread it out. After it dries, you don't notice, all you do notice is a light glaze on the stitching. Really strong glue. I use it with my jute slings as well. Never an issue, I have had crazy glue almost eat the natural materials.

Hmm seems like E6000 is a popular choice, I'll get some of that if I find a problem with the glue I'm using. I was just using a bottle of fabric glue I found in a hobby store.

Weld bond glue is also a great one. I been using this one for a little bit as well, and it's awesome.
