I don't quite get what he's saying here. "Learn to build better hurl. The knots on the letter are very unfavorable. They let stone stumble. Also what does he mean by fringes, a tassel?

Learn to build a better sling I would assume. Fringes are probably the tassel.  You don't necessarily need a  certain style sling to avoid this issue. The slings I use are not fancy but they work for me, and the same is true for many of us. I personally use tabs on my short slings. They are fairly heavy and they may or may not help to open the sling pouch faster. It's been too easy for me to make guesses in the past but sometimes very difficult to prove, so "may".  Smiley I know that with my slings the paracord near the pouch virtually never wears out and the leather on the bottom retention side usually wears out before anything else.

You said that whipping that area on your sling causes a bump. I think maybe Jaegoors diagnosis is the most likely, in that it's hitting the cord attachment which causes problems clearing the cords cleanly. That and maybe even something in your slinging style. I've used one style in the past that was temperamental and then using the same sling another style would always work perfectly. Those are the two factors I would look at.

Alright. I've been using the way CA recommend to attach cords but is there a better way?

Hmm. That should work well which is why I suspect some combination of things. If it was a bad design he wouldn't use it.  Try an apache style sling. They are easy and work well.  Some cord wear is normal, excessive wear in a short amount of time is not, and usually indicates an issue.

Alright. Would you happen to know of a good tutorial on how to make one?

need video.
Also sounds like it's your grip that could be causing the issue.

With a bloody big rock like that, unless your cords get tangled during the throw (happens most often in narrow grips - but not exclusively)  the release cord just shouldn't be there.

How many knots do you tie on the end ?

It's one reason I use 3 knots. Allows for different width grips and gives the cord end a little extra weight.

I've only ever had missiles hit the release cord when the cords get tangled.

and please try and resize your images before uploading.

And do you tie the knots all together or space them out? If so how far apart should I do that?
