Ammo hitting the retention cord often which frays it, how to fix? (Read 4611 times)

Or should I add wax or something to the cord? I tried whipping, but that causes a bump which the ammo hits during release, causing less power and accuracy.

So, it's the retention cord that's fraying? That's odd. Definitely need a picture. If possible put a normal stone or whatever you use in it and get a close up of the pouch and retention cord area.

Reply #12 - Feb 23^rd, 2017 at 9:48pm It might help if you rifle your shots. My wear patterns tend to veer off the left side of the pouch more often than not since I started doing that. Then again I only really sling sidearm, so your mileage may vary.

Reply #13 - Feb 23^rd, 2017 at 11:54pm I had wear on my retention cord like that as well. I think it was because the release cord would slide against it when I was using a narrow grip. I use a wider grip now, so the wear is minimal. Do you use a narrow grip? Or which finger do you loop the retention cord?

The rocks I use have a little white dust on them and it shows on the cord that they hit and I can hear it usually, its not cords rubbing.
