How long will this connection last
Jan 27th, 2017 at 12:06pm

Hey slingers,

as days getting longer again i get active again. Now i made a connection and would like to know what you think. The Leather is relatively soft and i wonder if i should make a connection with or without a hole.

I am open to any ideas.

That may actually be overkill.  Leather is pretty tough and lasts for a while in a pouch.  Two layers should be OK for a long while as long as you keep it pretty dry.

If you ever have thinner leather and want to combine them, contact cement or shoe goo creates a very strong bond. I used to make Apache slings with the cords stitched to one piece of light leather and glue the other piece over so the stone would not contact the stitching. Never had a failure from the glue.

In addition to what morphy said about glue. Follow the package instructions carefully and make sure the glue is the kind that dries flexible. Crazy glue for example will dry hard and brittle and the material will snap or crack befor it bends
