With a weave you create a flat surface by weaving a cord through a lattice of threads - like the pouch on the sling you posted.

Braiding is combining threads together to make thicker cords and rope.

Thanks! I have tried it out. It works but I think it's a bit too thick for me because I can feel and hear a ton of air resistance and I don't seem to be getting as much power. But I'll probably do better next time.

Well then, how about calling it la resistance  Wink
pretty nice work. hope you keep that sling and use it not only for slinging, but to see how much your braiding improves over time.

Huh, I like it  Grin best one so far. And I'm planing on doing that not just for comparison but it has sentimental value for being my first braided sling I've made. I mean up untill now slings I've made were just 2 cords of paracord and a leather pouch, so this is a big improvement.

I didn't like the pouch of the sling I made after testing it
I found that because I didn't braid the pouch tightly it had a rough release and the strings were already fraying quite badly. So I decided to rebraid it. That didn't go well so I had to cut it in half and I improvised and used the cords to go though a leather pouch and 2 other cords to add "whipping" to each attaching side to hold them in place and burned all the strands to keep them from slipping out. Then I modified the pouch a bit and here's the end product. So now I like it better, in my opinion leather grips and releases better... but that's just what I think.
