what would be the narrowest width someone could sling with any style without any nuisance?

just wondering what an indoor/all weather slinging range should look like...

You could do underhand and that would not take up more space than some one just standing.  However, your sling couldn't  be much longer than ankle to fingertips or you would hit the ground during the throw.

we can probably sling overhand apache style, at narrow spaces as thin as we are.
but the question says any style without nuissance

for example how much space per slinger in : a war formation, barracks facilities, throwing range etc

I like the vertical fig-8 for formation slinging.

You can line people up very close without danger of hitting the guy next to you.

I'm guessing thats whats going on here...

Correct me if I'm wrong  but less than 1.8 well maybe 2 meters wide per person would suffice to sling horizontal styles even with longer slings. Someone would have to record themselves perfectly straight from behind in line with the target and measure how much space they would need to each side to sling uninterrupted.

it does depend on sling length and purpose.
But you can get pretty close.
