New to slinging- Hello from the UK
Jan 15th, 2017 at 3:35pm

Hello all!

I recently stumbled upon a youtube video on making slings- and given my interest in all things historical combat- I thought I'd give it a go. It's remarkable how easy it is to make, though I think that my skills need work (both in the construction and the throwing). Hence why I'm here.

Glad to meet you all.

Pete

sheffield isn't too far away.  (so i keep being told)
I'm near burton on trent.

Considering a sling event this summer. Got a friend with a good sized field.

Alternatively you could come to the international in mallorca 1st to 5th march - best to fly out 28th and back on 6th.
It's a blast Smiley

Thanks all for the welcome messages. I've just made a new sling from paracord (my third ever)- If the stars align and I actually have some free time tomorrow I may get out to somewhere isolated and give it a proper try out!

Mallorca sounds wonderful though I'm detained by school (teacher not student!) Should have time over the summer Smiley

Welcome JudoP.  We are still a relatively small group but growing every day. Slinging tends to lead to a lot of side hobbies that all sort of correspond to some part of the act of being a slinger. So be warned, you will probably find in a year or two you have more hobbies than time. (If you're not there already).  Smiley

Oh believe me I'm already there- I'm struggling for time enough to test my slings let alone other hobbies! Still, there's school holidays for some dedicated practice time.
