How many hours do you think?

Excellent thread Parmenion. We all start somewhere. I haven't had much chance to sling lately but when I do I will post some stats.

i don't measure time slinging everytime i sling but it's probably around 50h ,
i need another 200years to reach 10000 hours slinging Tongue

the general plan until May was 300hurls per weekend 52 weekends per year =15600 hurls! and around 208hours
but life isn't like that
i didn't sling for 2 months for health reasons
and i felt like the above program was too stressful for the arm

so the plan from August was: 4/week X 4weeks/month X 10 months
with slinging from 30 to 60 minutes ,slinging 40-80 times= 6400-12800 hurls ,80-160h

I may have misread what you were saying. You're not a newer slinger are you Parmenion? I've been away for awhile.

We seem to have quite a few people that do that. I'm glad you joined.

You may remember Paleoarts had a similar thread to this where people would post their scores on set targets/distances. That was a great thread as well. Hopefully more people will post on this one.

I think I was only able to sling a handful of times this year. I was incredibly busy trying to get my business off the ground. I also was working on fortifying my shoulder from an injury a couple of years ago. it was worthwhile to step back a bit and rehab my shoulder. I'm going to develop a personal slinging program this year including not just slinging practice but also targeted excercises to keep myself in good condition

I could only find this. I could've sworn the ISAC thread had tons of posts . But I didn't see any that looked like the one I remember.

2017 stats:
  • ~100 slinging sessions
  • ~12400 sling throws, 1% accurate hits
  • ~700 left hand sling throws
  • ~1200 hand throws

I'm very happy that i could keep up with what i planned Smiley. I'm very disappointed about the improvement, in the beginning of the year I was more accurate than I'm now Sad.
Focus!

happy new year to all !  Smiley

Nice job Parmenion. That's really quite a goal to keep all those stats for a year of slinging. You wouldn't happen to know the distance to your target and it's size would you? Smiley

Was 2016 a typo? Don't you mean 2017? or did you wait a year to post the stats?

Nice stuff . I may try to keep record of my slinging practice. I do carry it a lot though so might be hard.
