It always makes me laugh when people say the sling is only a toy or just completely underestimates it. Good shot!

Good slinging.  What were you using for ammo?

To avoid beating my target backing to pieces quickly, I use dried clay glandes.  Notice I said quickly, it will destroy the boards eventually.

I also laugh when a hit to the head just stuns someone in a movie, I know that even through a helmet, the hitee is going down.  With a helmet, he may survive, not going to if he doesn't have one.  Even a glancing blow is going to do bad things like crack bone.

stones varying shape and weight .
i don't remember the weight of the stone that made the accurate hit but i think it was light, around 100g.

upload pictures!

to tell you the truth i didn't like it deformed i thought it was hard enough to withstand hits, it was gonna make a nice buckler.
now that's deformed i think it will be my target from now on.

i wonder what kind of steel is used on the balearic target.

A large pan has recently come up on a Facebook selling group and I'm really tempted to get it and take it out on the field to see how it stacks up Cheesy

Old useless ones are the best, that way you don't feel bad for absolutely destroying it!

I believe the centers of the Baleric targets are 6mm thick and of fairly high carbon steel.

And I'm pretty sure Jaegoor has destroyed several of his, I believe they cracked out around the mounting bolts.

If you live out in the country, you may want to look at buying a disc blade from a farm equipment store.

I've agreed to buy it on Monday. Not exactly sure of the material or thickness but 50cm diameter and some form of metal Cheesy

So I got the frying pan (but only now got around to posting this) and it's actually a 47cm diameter but I don't think it makes too much of difference because this is still a REALLY big pan. I think even I'll be able to hit it. Not sure when I'll have time to take this down range but hopefully soon. I'll get back to you all on the results.
