Thearos Interfector Viris Spurii Offline Take that Posts: 3410	Possible image of Roman legionary with sling, C1st BC Jun 14^th, 2016 at 6:07pm Andreas Strassmeir, Andreas Gagelmann, Das Heer des Varus, has a painting of a Roman legionary skirmishing as a slinger, in 9 CE. The source is the gravestone of the legionary Flaveiolus Cordus, now in Mainz museum. I join pics of both the reconstruction and the ancient gravestone.

But nunchucks probably as likely as that being a sling. Why waste that much leather when cheap cord and a pouch makes a lot more sense.
