So there is a crowd-funded, faith-centred movie on David and Goliath, made on a shoestring budget-- trailer here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7AWTRwNyUQ

if you skip to 1:32 or so, you can see the fight scene: Goliath, heavily armoured and wielding a sword, warily circles the shepherd boy, who slings him down at a distance of about four paces. That's the only bit I saw. Give me Malcolm Gladwell any day.

EDIT: review here. The point about the fight is well made.

At least they portrayed Goliath as a reasonable size, and not 20 or 30 feet tall.

Watched bits of it. It almost is like "Springtime for Hitler". The scene where the Philistines speak in front of a green screen + added on modern forge with casting equipment is something.

Hollyweird has a well earned reputation for screwing up everything at all with any sort of historical context.

300 guys fighting desperately to stop 100,000 on a narrow road?  They can make that better that the actual history.

Why should anyone be surprised that they screwed this up, too?
