Benchmade Griptilian vs Spyderco manix 2 (or a better knife for the price)
May 23rd, 2016 at 2:10pm

Hey Guys, i'm looking into buying a higher quality knife than what i have/use now, and i thus far have found that two knives fit the bill (pun intended) of what i'm looking for: the Benchmade Griptilian 550hg: http://www.bladehq.com/item--Benchmade-Griptilian--3609 and the Spyderco Manix 2: http://www.bladehq.com/item--Spyderco-Manix-2-G10--4387 Thoughts/Opinions? All are helpful. Smiley

not keen on the shape of the blade for either to be honest.

And i absolutely hate pocket clips.
Yeah you can remove them but then you either have holes in the handle or little pointless screws.

I wouldn't buy either.

If I absolutely had to choose one I'd go for the griptilliam.

But If I were you I'd keep looking. that's a lot of money for a pocket knife.

I only stick with a few brands, BUCK , MORA; or LEATHERMAN. can't go wrong with any of those.  my main knives. didn't really break the bank. except the leatherman surge I got. but I also just started getting into knife making.

best pocket knife I've had  - apart from my mantiss buzzard - is an ozark trail liner lock I got in walmart in wyoming 9 years ago. Think it was around $5.

It's been in regular use as my dog walking knife for chopping brambles, rose briars or anything else that annoys me and needs pruning when I'm out with the dogs.

Get's a quick sharpen every now and then with the diamond file on my gerber multitool, tested it last week and it's still shaving sharp after 9 yeras of pretty regular use Smiley

Got my dad a pricier gerber at the same time. And my ozark trail is in much better condition after a lot more use.

Sometimes price doesn't reflect quality or longevity of a knife.

that's y I love Moras.  cheap keep edges very well. usually around  $10-$20. and up. usually the $20 ones suffice for most jobs

Of the two I prefer the manix. It looks like it would fit my hand better.
