I made a few, a couple years ago. Mason trowel head, 10inches, and 5feet pvc pipe 1inch diameter.  Very lightweight and I sharpened the heads. Ryan

Mostly used as as thrusting spear. But it works. I also sanded the pvc and then spray painted it , (green,black, and brown) for the camouflage . I cut about 2 inches into the side of it. Wedged the head in, and then used epoxy as the glue, the spears are about 3years old. Still strong.

Round off the back corners of your point some more, it will come out a lot easier.
