Posts: 1913 Northern Maine Gender:	Re: Moulds for spherical bullets Reply #1 - Oct 8^th, 2015 at 4:28pm The slingshot as everyone knows as the "Y" shaped with rubber bands and a small pouch came to be, in the 1850s. After vulcanized rubber came into commercial production. Maybe it was set up for the shotgun shot; for hunting.Maybe? Ryan Those molds do look amazing though

And I would think the term slingshot was used long before rubber powered catapults were invented.
