Moulds for spherical bullets

Just to hive this off another discussion: here are pics of moulds, one in bronze from Corinth, one in stone from Athens, for little round spheres-- possibly weights, perhaps sling shot.

Corinth: Corinth XII
Athens: Pnyx small finds

The slingshot as everyone knows as the "Y" shaped with rubber bands and a small pouch came to be, in the  1850s. After vulcanized rubber came into commercial production. Maybe it was set up for the shotgun shot; for hunting.Maybe?

Those molds do look amazing though

I mean "lead shot for slings", not rubberbands. These moulds date to the Byzantine period or earlier.

well technically it is 'shot' for slings.
And I would think the term slingshot was used long before rubber powered catapults were invented.
