Reply #2 - Sep 18^th, 2015 at 3:30pm I'm not sure how accurate the Creative Assembly (SEGA) nailed the Armenian form, but I have to say those shields are pretty dang cool/ useful. I wonder if there are shield holding slinging competitions out there.. & the second video had me laughing when he told his dieing archers to "o grow up they're only stones."

Nice David. How heavy was that shield? Also just a thought... If the shield was mounted to the left forearm could you use your left hand more freely for reloading? I would like to know more about the historical use of slinging shields. Theoros?

I know slingers utilized shields back in the day. I just don't know the specifics really and I'm fascinated by the idea of slingers using shields...
