Hi,
as I also continue in researching sling projectiles for my master thesis, I can send you many archaeological and ethnographic articles and my bachelor thesis as well concerning sling and sling balls to broaden up the history of the sling.

I study Prehistoric Archaeology of the Near East at Masaryk University in Brno, in the Czech Republic.

However I would like to ask you for help.

Hello slingers,

I have prepared one more questionnaire to help my research.
This one concerns the question about weight/mass of projectiles in relation to materials.
It matters which material is chosen and how much it weighs.
I study especially clay and stone projectiles. I would like to prove that clay either sun-dried or baked projectiles are the counter-parts of stone projectiles in Neolithic period in the Near East.

he could mean weighted tennis balls, and they weigh about 60 grams unweighted (googled it so it might be off)

Reply #4 - May 11^th, 2015 at 5:16pm There are dog toys that look like tennis balls but are slightly smaller or larger with thicker sides to avoid teeth punctures. No clue as to the weight of either, though.
