Throwing sticks are some of the most over looked tools a primitive reenactor/hunter can use.

Basically, it's a stick, one that you throw. It can be as basic or as fancy as you want to put into it.

And I personally like ash, it has pretty parallel sides, so one small tree can make several that are the same length and just about the same weight. White oak is good, too, although I prefer a limb from a large white oak.

And like a sling, you have to practice. A lot.

Probably a lot easier than a sling.
