Hello from Texas
Dec 8th, 2014 at 4:31pm

Howdy, new slinger here from central Texas.  I've been interested in learning how to sling for quite some time, but I had never really taken any action on it till recently.  I was doing some browsing and ended up here, and got started.

I've put together a few slings now, and an getting better with them.  So I look forward to being involved with the slinging community.

Welcome from Alabama.  I tell new people to learn with tennis balls, at least until they can get the projectile to go forwards every time.

I apologize for the delay in response.

I have always been interested in the sling, ever since I heard the story of David and Goliath.  Well fast forward about 25 years, and I've spent a lot of my adult life learning about the various indigenous martial skills around the world, and spent a decent bit of my time learning the weapons associated with them.  The sling was always something I meant to do some more research on, as I knew that it had historically been a common weapon system.  One night I got bored and started googling and ended up here.  One thing led to another, and next thing you know I'm chunking rocks and blocks of ice at my back fence.

Am I the only one who finds it slightly amusing that people are debating the merits of riot shields against zombies in a totally normal manner?     I do love this forum. -Morphy

Hi, Jenrick;
    Welcome.  What kind of slings did you make?  Any pictures?
