How does the ring work?  Does it just slide off the cord when you release?

Very cool video timpa. I added your site on my new blog by the way, I think it deserves more attention. You make very good quality video's.

Bet it was fun to hit stuff with those.  And you certainly did lots of interesting experimentation to find how to make it work best.
Keep the fun coming  Smiley.
I`m not sure any of your ways so far is better than the "middle of dart" release, though.  But I can`t be sure because I have only done it that way.

Thank you all! Smiley

@Bill Skinner:
Yes, the string slides out of the ring.

@Jauke:
What is your blog link?

@Timann:

@Jauke:
What is your blog link?

Here it is: www.slingeren.blogspot.nl
I used the same method as yours : you use Finnish / English, I use Dutch / English.

By the way, I see in your links on your website that my old blog www.myslinging.blogspot.nl is still attached. I made a new blog because I forgot my password of the old one and I cannot retrieve it somehow..  Undecided

I REALLY like the ring method. Might have to get that one I try because I actually understand how it works.  Wink

Great video Timpa!

Great video I am loving your use of a compression coupling.
Guys,  this is a great way to affix a nail or spike to tubing or pipe without welding or soldering.  It can easily be scaled up to larger pipe for heavy artillery cestros.  I'm thinking some 1/2" black pipe with a timber spike chucked from a cestrosfustibalus.
I am not entirely sold on the ring method....I will have to try it for myself.

Nice if the video is helpful.  Smiley
The ring requires a slippery rope. I tried five different types of rope, before I found the right.

Be careful of sharp peaks with.

The ring could be dangerous i think..some times the release rope like to entangle stuff..

Yep, do not throw messy string.  Smiley
I noted the ring for the best. But as I said: you have to be slippery rope.
