Fiador Knot Gear Carrier
Nov 19th, 2014 at 7:00pm

The fiador knot is used to make bridles for horses.  It has other uses as well.  There is one upper loop and two lower loops that can be made any size.  It can be hung from a belt or any appropriate place.  The sliding knots I added to the lower example clamp down snugly on flashlight, water bottle, or whatever.

How I Did it
The ordinary fiador knot is basicly a four strand diamond  - left and right of center- lower knot.  The Mattthew Walker Knot (MWK)style fiador knot is a four strand MWK.

...

And here is how it is made:

Interesting. I can only do a few basic knots. I should probably get a good book one day on knots and learn some more.

If you've got multiple loops you can always attach bottles or handles via a pile hitch http://www.animatedknots.com/pile/index.php

If you do get into knots Jauke I found that I like Geoffrey Budworth's books. Well, at least the ones with photographs. He does an excellent job of showing the steps of the knots.
