Do you warm up?

So do you warm up before you go slinging? I try to every time even if it's just some arm circles and such. I definitely notice a difference in that I move and flow a little easier if I warm up first too. There is a baseball warm up I use pretty frequently and it's like five minutes and then I'm ready to go.
What about yourselves?

I don't.  I just start throwing.  I don't start out at full strength, I work my way up in three or four throws.  Or a few more if the weather is cold.

I think that no warm up is a major advantage for a sling, you don't have to warm up to get pretty good power behind the throw.  That could have been of major importance way back when, after being crouched in a blind for a couple of hours waiting for waterfowl to come in.  If you tried to throw by hand, you will be stiff and not get a very strong throw.  With a mid length sling even a 3/4 throw is still way more powerful than most can throw by hand until they have warmed up a good bit.

I don't, but also ease into power throws. I guess the first few throws could be considered a warm up noidea

I've a cranky rotater cuff. I have to warm up or itwill punish me later in the day after I cool down. Only a couple of minuets are needed and then I'm good to go.

I generally do a short warm up, just in case.  Don`t want nasty stuff to happen in my shoulder.

I do, but not always, and when i do, it's just like a minute long hand rotation, and some sling throwing motion-imitations Tongue
For me, i think a two minute warmup would be plenty,at least for me.
Also,often beforehand slinging i'm doing some physical work,so i'm already,somewhat warmed up.

Only when I warm up, when I tried to throw 300m over the lake.

No warming up, and still my first shots are often the best. I get out of my car, go to my tree or rather 40 m from it, shoot and hit (at least often).

There was a time I thought warming up would be usefull, but at least it is of no use in the warm season. In winter this may be different.

I don't but I really should.  I warm up for everything else I do.  At my age (just turned sixty.. ugh!) I need to start warming up before I sling.

I usually do a "sling stretch" where I load my sling, grab the pouch with my left hand and pull down and behind with my right arm bent over/behind my head…stretching my shoulder. I hold that for a few seconds then throw easy 2 or 3 times.

2 right shoulder surgeries… Wink

A quick stretch is never a bad idea...

I rotate my wrists a bit, then do a couple of throws with the sling empty. My first few shots are usually pretty bad, no point in having to retrieve the ammo an extra time.

I don't ever sling at full power, otherwise I'd do a more decent warmup.

If I anticipate a longish slinging session then I stretch my throwing arm out a bit.

Am I the only one who finds it slightly amusing that people are debating the merits of riot shields against zombies in a totally normal manner?     I do love this forum. -Morphy
