I'm a sliiiightly newer oldbie (Started lurking when I first gave slings a shot around '07-'08, joined permanently in 2009), but I most definitely remember you and your gorgeous braids and knots very well. Glad your back! Smiley

(I went skiing/snowboarding in Squaw Valley a few years back. Gorgeous place! Gimme a hollar if you're ever in Portland OR Grin)

Donnerschlag,

Glad you like the braids.  There are actually two Squaw Valley's!  The other one is famous and this one's the original one.  I'm near Kings Canyon National Park in CA, but below it in the hills.

Bah. Of course that's the case Tongue
Back in my day, people lived in uniquely-named towns--none of these copycat names in different states and such.

blackfur2,

I think you do excellent work.  That's a great design.  I like it.  You're actually using whipmaking techniques for sling braiding.  The taper surely makes for a nice crack, as you said.

Donnerschlag,

And around here the towns have roads named after the adjacent town!  It's ridiculous and confusing.  In Squaw Valley there's a road named after the town.  Squaw Valley, Squaw Valley!  I can think of a bunch of good names for towns and roads so I'm not sure why the people in charge can't seem to have any creativity.

Not to reply too late, I hope, but I'm still lurking around. I seem to remember that I joined in December of 2004. Strangely, I think one of my last posts was me talking about getting ready to make slings for a craft show at work, which is what I find myself doing again, but at a different job!
