thinking about changing the slinging.org logo

Okay It's no secret that I've never been a fan of our current logo. I just think it looks like he's using a lariat.

Plus this would be the replacement:

...

The oldest known image of a slinger and quite clearly a slinger.

thoughts please.

So whats wrong with a lariat ... it was probably in use, as a tool, before the sling.

Let's see a progression ... mmmmm loose fiber .. twist into thread .. twist into cord ... twist into lariat .... ... tie short bit of lariat to stone .. throw it all ... but wait ... with two bits of lariat I can throw the stone and keep the cords ... hmmm this could be useful...

ie keep the cowboy

p.s. I think the Turk would make a great tattoo .. if you are into that sort of artwear

Indeed, I have the Turk as a tat. I like the current logo, but I also like the Anatolian Slinger.

Massi - WTF? It's called a sling. You use it to throw rocks farther and faster than you could otherwise. That's all.

nothing wrong with a lariat - it's just not a sling.

if this was lariat.org I'd be all behind lariat guy. But as this is slinging.org I'd prefer a logo that was clearly a slinger.

i like David Morningstar's idea, just do something about the circle that's making it look like a lariat.
