Balearic sling tutorial
May 19th, 2013 at 4:52pm

Hi, guys. I'm making a balearic sling fibers braided tutorial. I made it for my friends from www.paleoforo.com (pardon about publicity). I added english instructions, thinking about you. I Hope you like it. Second part coming soon.

Great tutorial,

I really like your technique to separate the initial strands from each other. I can tell you I spent hours doing this Embarrassed

The nail trick also is great, that can be really difficult trying to get out the tangled fibres.

A very excellent video! Thanks for making it and posting it. I've had difficulties when trying to braid like that in the past, but with your instructions, I should have another try at it.

Great tutorial.  I got many hints from it, and if my roll of sisal  behave like that, and end up as fibers instead of powder (yes I have experienced that) I could make one.  I have braided many slings with 5-strand braid (mostly Chimarro slings) and I have braided slings using grass as fiber.  I look forward to part 2.

Really good video! Thank you for the time and effort!

I recently finished a tematatl-style sling using sisal for the first time. After seeing this video, I'm definitely going to try it again.

Very cool! I'll have to try rolling the fibers more when I braid. Looking forward to the next part!

Hey guys, first thank you for your kind words. I'm happy that you like.

You can see the two part tutorial here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAllExyVw6I

By the way, I'm interested in whether English texts included are understandable for a real english speaker and understood in slings.

Third and last part soon.

Oh, I was sure my friends would do a good job with a translation, but  was not sure that the instruccions are understandable for a slinger.

Thanks! I often have trouble splitting and joining braids. They never lay flat for me Sad I'm going to try it your way next time!
