What strange dreams have you had?
Sep 30th, 2012 at 4:47pm

Last night I had a bad dream,  or series of dreams. I cant remember everything,  but it was evil in its nature all of it.  I remember this one part there was 3 boxes one said war casualties,  i forgot what the other 2 said.  I couldnt push them away they just kept pushing towards me,  I would try my hardest to push them away but by themselves they kept push relentlessly.  One dream was one of my aunts was at her death bed or something,  it was a really bad time everyone was sad.  And there was this one woman,  she sounded like a baby crying,  like in those movies where a person is possessed she kept pushing me without her moving just gliding on the floor.  Its like if a heavy rock going downhill and you cant push back thats how those 2 instances were like,  twas freaky.  I dont remember those other dreams...

Mind, I think that "dream analysis" is utter bunk.   However, they are entertaining...

Mind tend to be along themes.    One theme I call "fishing" dreams.  Invariably involves some sort of body of water which is filled with very large, vaguely-threatening fish...

Another is the "house" dream, which invariably involves us living in a very large structure that bears no resemblance to any actual house we've ever lived in...

Still another is the "UFO" dream, in which the skies will be filled with literal UFOs; and a large group of us will be out watching them and trying to decide whether to be scared or not.

I used to do "flying" dreams, which were great fun, but for some reason they stopped and I haven't had one in years.

Flying dreams are interesting.  I've read that we have them and they are so vivid (none of us has ever flown under our own power but in these dreams we know exactly what it feels like)  because they are race memories from when we used to swing through the trees like monkeys.  It's something to think about.  I used to have very vivid flying dreams when I was very little.  Then I'd wake up and the bed would be soaked.
I am a big time dreamer.  Every night I churn them out.  The stranger ones I tend to remember.  I had a dream shortly after Mom died.  In it I  found her sitting on a couch but she was 13 years old.  In the dream I knew she was dead and coming back to visit me.  I complimented her on how pretty she was at 13.  It was a very realistic, strange dream.

I had a dream a while ago (I don't have them that often) where I was walking up a really steep bridge and then I see 3 Desert Patrol Vehicles coming over the crest and I catch up to them and hop in the lead vehicle, which was being driven by Christian Slater. The one behind me was being driven by the Epps from Transformers, and I didn't recognize who was driving the other one.

Then we drove down to the rail tracks, and shot at random things with Lugers while doing doughnuts and ramping stuff with the D.P.V.s
And just before I got Christian Slaters email, I woke up.

It was pretty neat.  Cool

I have a tend to have frequent and vivid dreams, not infrequently accompanied by sleepwalking of shades thereof.  Thankfully, while scary dreams are not uncommon, nightmares are.  I can't remember the last time I had a nightmare (knock on wood).  I, too, think that dream analysis is hogwash, but they can be loads of fun.

My favorite kind of dream are those in which I am not me, but I am along for the ride with someone else.  The situations I am in, the setting and other characters, are unfamiliar to me.  These get very interesting when I don't know what is going on, but the character I am 'playing as' does.  I am unable to read the character's mind, but I (as the character) do things based off things I know that I do not know.  (It makes all the sense!) All the while as I am running about as the character, I am also behind the scenes trying to connect the dots and figure what is going on.

Often these dreams are short and I do not remember all of them, but a few months ago I had a rather spectacular one, clearly influenced by my love of fantasy/sifi, that I remembered most of and was able to write down when I woke up.  It involved multiple overlapping first person view points, several seemingly random omniscient viewpoints, monsters, soldiers, laser guns, magic, and ended with an implied natural disaster!
It was intense.

From the time I was an infant until the age of five I had horrible nightmares every night.  I had repeat nightmares, which are the pits because you know what's going to happen next but you're helpless to stop it.   I guess my nightmares were hallucinogenic because sometimes they would continue for a few seconds after I was awake.  I had my own regular cast of bad dream characters and even remember nightmares from before I could talk.  The worst of those still weirds me out to this day.  It was very vivid.  I was on a huge net.  I was too young to know the word net, so I called it strings.  The net spread out all around me into infinity in all directions.  It was very weak.  Below me was nothing forever, just the prospect of falling faster and faster for eternity.  Consequently, I tried desperately to stay supported by the net, which kept giving way underneath me.  I'd scramble to another part and that would start to disintegrate so I'd move a few feet over to another spot and that would start to give way.  The net was barely holding me up.  I woke up flailing, trying not to fall into the void.  This was a hell of a dream for a baby to have.  It was extremely realistic.  I felt like I was wide awake.  Anyway, the nightmares continued until I was about five, then they suddenly stopped, thankfully.  I'll occasionally have a dream that is very bizarre and disturbing.  I even occasionally have episodes of sleep paralysis, but I haven't had a terrifying dream since those days.

ugh. that would suck! my worst was similar, but involved a faceless dude who walks behind me forever on a desert. he can teleport
it really sucked. he would walk after me, then vanish, the reappear right in front. i has had a good affect on me- it is almost impossible to sneak up on me!

Last night, at my house, I was doing something, and then these guys kept trooping in with a bunch of stuff covered in black cloth, like musical equipment, and said it was frommy guitar teacher, who I dont believe has thatmuch stuff. Oh and at some point I went to bed in my dream and dreamed of  getting candy this halloween by riding my back late, like 8pm, to clear bowls and such from houses probably wanting to get rid of candy. then I woke up and realized I neither have a bike, nor houses to go to (hi college without easy access to any houses)

Flying dreams are great, absolutely my favorite. I will occasionally also have dreams where I feel like I am in some control of what happens. I can re-wind the dream and do things differently, it's pretty neat. One of the scariest things I've ever experienced is something known as sleep paralysis. Basically, your mind is awake, but your brain has not yet released the chemical that allows your body to wake up. I woke, fully conscious, but unable to move or speak. It was only a few seconds, but it felt so much longer. Truly unnerving.

Falling / Flying .. then land on floor
( not for a long long time ).

Being eaten by a carnivorous plant / bem ( bug eyed monster)
( and waking up with all four corners of my covers tucked under my rolled up body )
( also not for a long long time )

Those were the biggies when I was young.

I've never had a flying dream to my knowledge, but I don't have hardly any nightmares either.  In all of my dreams I am usually either watching someone else or something else or I am myself, but I am always in complete control.  It's kind of like I am the director, I don't get to choose the theme but if I don't like the story I just kind of think to myself this is boring or stupid and I change what is happening, I guess that's why I don't have nightmares.  One of the wierdest I had was I was watching in 3rd person a panda bear in a swamp who ha da gun and army clothes fighting crocodiles that jump up out of the swamp, also in military fatigues.  It was very strange and oddly entertaining.
The wierdest nightmare I have ever had was when I was really young, I woke up absolutely terrified about it and was muttering to myself "there's a million dollars on the end of my nose"! in a very worried frantic tone, the dream itself was that there was some sort of ball of money "a million dollars" on the end of my nose...and that was it... just really really strange.
Most of my dreams are just really really long stories, about all different topics.

And then there are the really fun dreams!  Wink

we were on a big old ship with huge sails, and a pirate ship attacked us. After some shooting, they got close, and started to throw the hooks and some were slinging themselves with ropes unto our deck. One of them was swinging towards me with a knife in his mouth (typical movie scene until here),but as he got close to landing he started to shout, and swallowed his knife and fell in front of me with a strange and funny face.I laughed really good about it in my dream, and after i got up as well.  Cheesy

Many times,i started to move my arms like i wanted to fly and suddenly i thought,i just have to really believe that i can fly and i started to took off,fly shorter distances, then after a few short ones, got airborne for good.Very enjoyable.
Also in my dreams i remembered that in older dreams, the trick was to believe, and it'll work

Many times i had dreams with snakes. They would often strike after me,but never getting to poison me,one of them scratched my leg with one teeth, but didn't get me Tongue

Once i got cut pretty badly,i quickly press-closed the wound and it instantly healed.

Probably many had these,i was going to run away from a drunk in a pub,but i was moving like in pudding.Probably in my bed i also tried to run but as my body was blocked it was sensed in my dream too,so i couldn't run..it was strange and frustrating.

haha That's the best thing I have heard all week!

I used to have a lot of reoccurring dreams where snakes would pour out of the powerpoints in all rooms until the whole room was just covered in snakes!
However, the most physical pain I have ever felt in my life has been in a dream. I was Indiana Jones, and I had just ran into a room trying to escape an attack by a huge white snow leopard. The leopard pounced on the door as soon as I closed it, and it continued to bite and scratch the door for hours. The scratching suddenly stopped. I opened the door a fraction to see if the leopard had left. Nope, no sign of the snow leopard. I opened the door cautiously. I slowly began walking outside to try and escape while I could. I hear a growl behind me and quickly turn around. The snow leopard pounces at me with incredible speed and all of the sudden it's bitten my balls and started to thrash its head from right to left, up and down viciously! I had never felt so much pain before, and it lasted for about a minute until I could free myself from its bite!
