Did some test throws with the 60 mm steel ball (yes, it does weigh around 880 g).
Actually, I found it much easier to throw than the golf balls. I can feel the weight in the pouch, and releasing at just the right moment was no longer a challenge.
With the staff sling, the range and power is amazing. It flew about 30 meters, crashing through the twigs and leafs of my trees. I had to dig the steel ball out of my lawn - and it has been dry for some time here... frightening. And I wasn't even throwing with full strength. I love it.
When the loop releases from the staff tip, it feels like the staff broke... very scary at first, as you expect the ball to fall right on your head. But of course it doesn't, instead it is launched at high speed.
