Beat me to making a thread about this! He is obviously a beginner judging by his technique, but perhaps we may see more of the sling on his channel in the future. Maybe he obtained some of his information from this website.

His invention of a compound bow similar sling was pretty cool, but a stonebow probably would have been more effective.

If you watch the end you can also see he does a 'dart view' out of one of his giant slingshots and shoots a camera out and you can kind of get an idea of what a slingstone in flight would see, just with less distance.

bugger the slin ging - that there torsion slingshot is bloody fantastic !
Definitely worth it's own thread and entry in the weapons list.

If he were to make a metal frame and use actual sinew (which is superior to all modern cordage) - you could easily produce a more compact version powerful enough to hunt with.

seriously you don't realise just how great that torsion bow/slingshot is.

I think he and I would get on like a house on fire - people running screaming and general chaos

We're even the same basic shape
Give him some hair and a beard and we could be twins

Someone has to point him at slinging.org

Cue fanfare:- well Joerg is now a slinging.org member . So let's start thinking of weird new inventions for him - not that he needs any help

But off the top of my head I'd like to see:

forearm mounted rubber band powered portable paintball trebuchet.
hoopack with slingshot attached. Now that would be a seriously useful bit of kit. Long range heavy projectiles using staff sling and short range accuracy with the slingshot.
Then there's the whole cestrospondon deal.

Not to mention the whole portable torsion weapons systems.

Going to be fun
