I actually discovered the Rolling Stones with about 12-13 years when I rifled through my fathers long-playing records (burried under a huge pile of beatles Wink

).
My favourite is Angie, followed by I can't get no satisfaction and paint it black

@ bigkahuna: Yes, time moves on, but the realy good music will never be lost. Beethoven is still beeing played!

I hit an Eagles concert last year that Glen Frey called the Assisted Living Tour. What really identifies oldtimers is remembering before the British Invasion. Let's hear it for doo-wop!

Being of an age with Rat Man, I should have been a big fan of the whole British Invasion scene. I was in the army in '64-'67, and the Stones and the Animals and the Beatles and all those guys were all over the radio at the time.
However, I was no fan... I was into classical music at the time and would spend hours at the base library listening to the big collection of classical recordings. They had several turntables set up on the desk and you'd pick a record and then either go into a "listening room" or use headphones. Pretty cool, actually.

I didn't begin to appreciate pop/rock till years later.
So, about the only Stones song that pops out at me is "Paint it Black"... I always liked the guitar figure.
I wasn't a big Beatles fan either... Call me wierd.

We did have a German "copy band" that played the local EM club over there... They did a dead-on cover of the Animals version of House Of The Rising Sun.....
