Not a bad first try. You'll learn as you go along. Couple of hints... Your "fistmele" is too low... That's the distance from the string to the bow when braced. Also, your arrows would work better with a lighter gauge of dowel....Those are really heavy for such a light bow. If you stack up layers of progressively-longer bamboo, you can achieve a nice, efficient bend. My first bow was made by my dad, who knew nothing of archery. However, the original "Robin Hood" series with Richard Greene was on TV and I wanted one desperately. So, he took two pieces of 1" X 1/4" trim material and taped them together, and we made a string from an old piece of fly line. Thing only pulled 20 pounds, but I got pretty handy with it. Used to buy arrows one at a time from the local hobby shop for about 75 cents. If you shoot the same arrow over and over you learn where it hits!
