I believe it's the Lovelock Sling found in North America and dating back 4,000 years. I had a little fun with the link, but don't let it keep you from asking questions. Wink

I and everyone else are happy to help with your article. King Tut's sling dates to around 3500 years ago and is the second oldest we know of. Slings are probably much older than that, but they're made of materials that break down easily and leave little trace.

Wait guys, the oldest evidences of slings that I know are some clay bullets from Southern Italy (Neolithic, approx. 5500-5000 years bp), and some much older cave pictures in France; I've to look at my books but if you can wait this evening, I'll give you further info.
