I like the idea of receiving the presidencial salary for the rest of your life when your term is finished.

Although I suspect my first decree would be to abolish both the election process, senate, house of representatives and the 4 years term.
Pretty sure I could manufacture a homeland security crisis that would give me full emergency powers.

4 years (even 8) is just not long enough to turn around an economy like the us's. Particularly if you're working within the restriction of the current setup.

President for life - that'd be me.

My manifesto:

End the Federal Reserve system and the IRS. Return to a gold backed dollar issued debt-free by Congress. Deficit spending to be outlawed by an amendment to the constitution.

Repatriate all current inmates of Guantanamo Bay and replace them with every person who has attended a Bilderberg conference.

Disband the BATF, FEMA, DHS, ,TSA, NSA, CIA and all other government agencies that are inimical to the liberty of the Republic. Repeal PATRIOT, NDAA etc.

Political campaign reform to include the ending of all big money advertising. Only grassroots activism will be permitted. Corporations will not be permitted to contribute to politicians or parties in any way.

The taxpayers are not liable for the debts of others, individual or corporate. There will be no bailouts, period.

Institute a number of projects run separately by each branch of the military to achieve the strategic aim of energy independence of the United States via fusion, land and space solar, geothermal and any other environmentally benign scheme that might work.

Disengage from global interference, both military and political. The armed forces will assume a purely defensive strategy of the national territories. Any threats will be met with massive and very politically incorrect levels of retaliation.

People will be eligible to vote if they have made a lifetime net positive contribution in state and federal taxes vs benefits. Those that take out more than they pay in dont get to vote. Dont like it? Tough. Others are carrying you, so you dont get to tell them what to do.

Each school day will begin with a recitation of the amendments of the constitution. After that, the curriculum and activities of the school are the sole decision of the school governing board. To be eligible for the board, you need to have a child in that school. All funding is privately contributed. 100% individual tax relief is given on amounts equal to those contributed to school funds.

Reduced rates of property taxes will be available for people who can demonstrate preparedness supplies and skills such as stored food and water, tools and materials, food gardens, membership of neighbourhood preparedness schemes etc.

I've thought long and hard about this. xxkid123 for president, but all decisions will be made by Morphy at a secret meeting on the second Tuesday of every month. Morphy and his family, of course, will be moved to a secret location somewhere in the vicinity of the US Virgin Islands to keep him from being influenced by world trends. Great pains will also be taken to keep Morphy from knowing who is asking him these questions, or why.

Mauro, I'm honored that you would nominate me for president, if only because of my youth. But I like my youth so all is well. I think I would be a good president, I'd just have trouble appearing dignified and going along with silly traditions. Oh, and the whole "most of the country distrusts me more than a rapist because I'm an atheist" ( http://www.christianpost.com/news/study-explores-believers-distrust-of-atheists- 63748/ ), but that's just a minor issue. Grin

Frankly, I nominate myself. I consider myself logical, and as president I would really emphasize personal responsibility in people to take care of themselves, rather than have to fix medicare and caid. Stay healthy people, help society in that simple way.And it's not who I would nominate as much as it's who I wouldn't nominate for president, and we clearly won't be getting into that.

xxKid123 for president all the way, along with Mauro. President and Vice, they can pick what they want. OR not vice, if someone else has more power than vice.

Whut? Me for president? While honored, I'll have to decline. 4 years in presidency and Obama has aged nearly a decade. Either that or after winning his campaign he stopped dyeing his hair black and getting laser surgery Grin

I'm only 14, no need to look like an old geezer through all that. Also, I don't think I'm ready to make many of the decisions presidency takes, even if Morphy does them for me Wink

. If asked to authorize something (possibly in them middle east) that may cause the deaths of civilians, or save many more in the future, I'm not sure I could really pick.

My vote goes between Ratman and Mauro for president, and Peaceful Jeffery as someone important. I don't always agree with PJ's ideas, but I think he gives a lot of valid points. They would be good for putting another view on Ratman or Mauro's ideas. I chose Rat and Mauro because they've both got clear cut common sense ideas towards helping the US, and I think they would also apply to other countries (I'm not sure, since I've never lived in them). However, I think they might bring too much change to the US. Sure I agree with many of their thoughts of leadership, but I'm not sure if the common public will support that. That's why I'd like PJ in the mix, making sure that we don't get too liberal, when a massive portion of the US is conservative. Yes, I realize that liberal and conservative are bad descriptions, but I can't think of anything else.

No, no, no! You'll do fine! You get to be an international playboy gallivanting everywhere and being generally beloved by everyone for the noninterference of your presidency. Morphy is protected from the aging of the presidency because he won't know that his decisions affect the lives of millions. He'll just think he's talking to oddly engaging trees about hypothetical situations. Grin

If I actually had a say in how are armed forces were used things would be very different. We would not get involved in these little BS proxy wars. We wouldn't waste our entire treasury and go deeply into debt trying to turn people who will always hate us into us. This is stupidity to the nth degree and has been our policy since I was a little shaver. A soldier's purpose is to kill, not make conquered people act like us. We would try every available avenue to avoid war but if and when we ever had to fight a war it would be for our defense and it would be totally for real. The threat would be completely destroyed forever.
The trillions that we saved by not involving ourselves in Vietnam style endless quagmire type wars would enable us to maintain the best military on the planet... one no one in their right mind would ever want to mess with. Please understand that I have nothing but gratitude and admiration for those brave patriots who served in Vietnam. It's the lying politicians that I hold in contempt.
Hopefully with our noses no longer where they didn't belong the world would stop hating us.
