Out of all of our members here who do you think would make the best president of the United States and why?  This is a special election so our members who aren't Americans are allowed to run and serve.  I'll count the votes at the end.  This is a very tough question because there are several members who are both intelligent and wise.  
    While were at it we might as well elect our new president a vice president also.

   I vote for Mauro.  Though on several issues he's a bit more Liberal than I (BTW, to me the word Liberal is not an insult.  I have many viewpoints that would be considered quite Liberal) but Mauro is well educated, passionate, compassionate, intelligent, and well informed.  Mostly I would vote for Mauro because of his hatred of governmental corruption.  I think President Mauro would clean house.  
    His vice president would be xxxkid123.  kid is extremely intelligent and has a way of thinking outside the box that would make him a great second in command.
   There are many others here who I think would be very competent.

Vote for me, and I'll give you more fish and winged lead glans!  
 
Seriously, it's when I log in and see topics like this that my day get better. I love this community and the time I spend here is always well spent.

By the way, governing the Americans would be a hard task. It's a population with lot of differences and particularities, and I think it'd be hard to do something that would make everybody happy. But I like Americans and I'm sure we would get along well. Of course I'd need someone to translate my speeches and law proposals, who's up??
 
But if I was a voter, then it would be hard to chose the right person. We all have big qualities here.  
But a thing I'm learning being an Italian voter is that I'd love young people in politics (man we have the very same persons since the proclamation of the Italian Republic in 1946!!!).
So forgive me but I'd vote kid or woonilsra, just because they're youth. And I'd love them to be aided by a Council of older and wiser persons, and there will be spoiled for choice!!

I vote for Pikaru for Pres. and Mauro for Vice Pres. I think they are both intelligent and balance each others experience out nicely.

   We would no longer involve ourselves in endless quagmire type wars where we come in and try to convince the defeated people who will always despise us that they should become America Jr..  When it becomes necessary for the U.S. to take military action we'd go in, kick ass, destroy the treat completely, and get out.  Additionally, though I'm not saying that we should become totally Isolationist, we should be much more selective as to when we used our military might.
    Marijuana would be made legal and we'd tax it like we do alcohol and cigarettes.
    With the savings and taxes from this action, no endless wars, less wars, the backlog in our courts being cleared out, and prisons being self sufficient you can see how we could get away with just a 10% income tax.
    By now you get my drift.  This is just the tip of the iceberg.  My policies would be simple, direct, sensible, and fair.  Mas would make an excellent vice president.  He'd probably disagree with everything I said or did but he'd keep me on my toes.
