Am I the only one thinking, "Wow! This is a really cool technique for odd shaped ammo, and I want to hit the like button, but this Guy looks really sketchy and I don't need to start seeing black vans parking across the street if I do!"

When you were making the short range strikes against your computer I was wondering how effective it would be if thrown.  It was really impressive when you threw it at the wall!

I took a look at your website, and you have some really interesting slings.  One of them is like an idea I had for a sling the other day.  I hope you don't mind if I post a link to it in another thread I created about it.

JK, I am one too. I'm not sure why, but the link doesn't seem to load for me. I'll check the video later to see if it's something wrong with youtube.

The star throwing sling was cool.  The knife-in-a-scarf too, but not much around that can beat the star sling Cheesy

Very cool. I was a bit skeptical but just the noice of the knife and the start hitting the wall was pretty convinving.

The mask was probably just to protect his face from any ricochets.  Wink

Slinging is a rare hobby in Finland. It is perceived as just a children's play and as a toy. Therefore, only the best friends know about this hobby.

I thought the knife and scarf shot was really cool. I have had a thRowing knife sitting around for twenty years and never quite knew how to master a shot at a distance. Never quite knew how to control the spin... I'll have to give your method a try.

was going to move the thread during the knife in plastic bag bollocks. That's not slinging.

But liked the knife from scarf and the throwing star sling idea is genius. Wonder what sort of distance you could get with that.   Smiley

Cool video Timpa!  It's great to see it is possible to sling a shuriken.  I was looking at your website and WOW, you have experimented quite a lot with different types of ammo and slings!  And the destructive power you are capable of is impressive!  You are like the Joerg Sprave of slinging Grin

I find it interesting that I have designed a flat-stone sling that looks similar in design to your metal disc sling.  I will include a photo of it.

I was playing with a 5" 5point stainless steel star (I'll weigh it when I get home) and a piece of paracord and I was easily hitting 60 yards with casual throws.  The only problem is once in awhile the star flies flat facing, still spinning like a saw... I think a lot of that is due to having too large of a center hole.

Cheesy

Yes, your sling is just like mine.

With a knife or a throwing star I have not tried the length of the throw.

Here is another comfortable video. Knife thrower on a string and slinging style.
