Hello from Riverside, CA
Jun 6th, 2012 at 12:24pm

whats up everybody, i just wanted to introduce myslef and say a big thank you to the creators, adminstrators and contributors of slinging.org. I now have a healthy hobby making slings. Im twenty seven years old and have made around 15 slings in the last four weeks, i have only used hemp twine and sisal twine. I did have a bit of an issue with the sisal twine that i just purhcased from the local home improvement store, it doesn't seem to hold its shape and looks like falls apart quite easily, im thinking of looking around for a different brand of sisal twine. Any suggestions?

I did make an Apache sling, but gifted it before i got a picture, i do think the pouch came out a bit rough, yet functional... here is my first agave fiber and second attempt at a Mexican Sling (Tematlatl)

Hello, canteskuyaOMD;
   Welcome to slinging.org.  Your slings look really good.  I especially like the Mexican Tematlatl sling.  Perhaps some time you could do a small tutorial explaining how to make it.

Hi from NoCal! Your slings are looking really good. Try some hardware store jute from Home Depot, it looks like sling making material is your biggest issue right now

Thanks for the comments Ratman, Kid. I did find an explanation of the tematlatl on paleoplanet, and here on slinging.org by Davd Morningstar, who dubed it The Mexican Woven Pouch Sling, thanks by the way David.  I did build it a bit differently by spliting the pouch in two seperate steps using two different peices of fiber to simplify it for myslef. I would definately love to build a tutorial for anyone to use. I think i'll work on that tonight after school.

Welcome! Judging by your slings you seem to be well on your journey of slinging. Stick to it!
