Hey,  all,  I'm another new member.  I have very little experience with the sling so I'm hoping to learn something here and find some tricks to help learn how to throw stuff.  I have 2 home made slings and I'm practicing with tennis balls.  I'm having problems with the figure 8 swing,  I've found some excellent vids on you tube but need a lot of practice.  I also need a lot of practices on accuracy.  I have an old dog cage that I'm using for a target with the door open.  The cage is for a large dog,  I'm trying to get the balls in the cage door. The cage also helps keep the balls in my yard,,  if I get them in the cage. I need a lot of help and practice.

Tether a tennis ball to a cord the length of your anchor cord. you can gently practice the swing pattern for the 8 and won't have to retrieve any ammo

Welcome Muddog. The fig-8 is like riding a bike. At some point it will just click and all make sense. Then you will wonder what was so hard about it. Accuracy is tough. No two ways about it. Just keep practicing and you'll get there.
