Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Cheese and onion enchiladas with yellow mole OR massaman curry with tofu OR cajun style crawfish gumbo. Or any food, really.

Macaroni and cheese is near the top for us....   Also a good bowl of chicken noodle soup along with a grilled cheese sandwich.
I make a pretty decent grilled cheese... I use that Brownberry whole wheat, plenty of butter, and brick cheese.   The whole wheat cancels out the heart-clogging butter and cheese, right?

I admit I'm fond of a good meatloaf as well.  Nothing fancy, don't put any extraneous junk in mine, thanks.

tough one: cheese. chocolate, cakes, cream cakes, donuts, jerky, snack sausage, smoked sausage.
In whatever order they are easiest to get hold of.

Today for example I've made some peanut cookies that I'm going to cover with milk chocolate Smiley
I've also got about 8 lbs of sausage meat to stuff and smoke. And they'll go mainly for sandwiches and snacks. As well as pickling.

Seriously pickled smoked sausage is amazing !

But I guess if I wasn'tthinking about calories, fat content, sugar content etc. It would be donuts every time.
By the half dozen.
Absolute favourite being tim hortens honey crullers.
I can practically do magic with them the spedd I can make them disappear  Wink

Right that's enough internet break - back to the smoker and the kitchen...

Wholewheat toast with thick Black Cat peanut butter and golden syrup, with a cup of black coffee.

Makes me feel as if there is still some semblence of sanity and order in an otherwise mad world

Ham, potatoes, lightly steamed broccoli and homemade applesauce. Homemade bread or buscuits optional. And if I really need comfort, a pineapple casserole too.

I like lots of comfort food and look it these days.  Ham and cabbage is always a good one and it's very easy to make.  Take one good sized ham (Cooks is a good  brand. There are many) and trim the excess fat off.  Next place it in a big pot and add enough water to cover it.  Put it on a low boil for a couple of hours then add five pounds of scrubbed potatoes.  A little before the potatoes are done core and quarter two large cabbages (more if not so large... the cabbage cooks way down) and add them.  Cook until the cabbage is soft.  Serve it then, but a dish like that is always better on the 2nd day when the flavors have had a chance to meld.  It's a simple, easy dish and it's sooooooo good.  You don't want to eat it every day though due to the high salt content.

I eat pretty much anything. But I really like beef/deer/pork, some kind of fried potato, and my mom's gravy, just makes me feel good. I don't really eat desert that often and the only times I do, I usauly just have a little bit at a time and eat it over a day or more like a snack.
