What is your battle song?

Ever had one of those times where you get in the bad-smelling-brown-stuff (waist deep), where it feels as if the entire world is taking a big, smelly dump on you. Fear and doubt creep into your mind. Like a zombie hand, it reaches out from behind that thick curtain everytime you feel just a little too good.

Your face is pushed into the muck for the 10th time today... You have nothing left to give... You surrender...

But then...f#%&#d up, to-the-point-of-letting-THEM-win...

That song softly starts to play in the back of your mind and you hear it from far away. It grows louder and louder until it blocks out all the doubt and fear. You raise your face out the dirt, get to your knees, your feet. You smile from a bloodied mouth... Raise your middle finger in defiance and whisper to yourself: "You can only kill me. But, you can never beat me."

I have days like this...

There are a few songs that are my anthens (kick-some-devil-ass-full-blood-child-of-God songs), but there is my "Let's fight until there is only one left standing" song.

Anything by manowar fits the bill. Heart of steel, courage, hail and kill being the first three that spring to mind.

Headstrong by Trapt
Step Up by Drowning Pool
I Wish I Had an Angel by Nightwish
Battlefield by Blind Guardian
Blow by Atreyu
The Soulforged by Blind Guardian
Until the End by Breaking Benjamin
Voices by Disturbed

And pretty much anything by Five Finger Death Punch.

The concept is familiar to me, but not something I personally indulge in... It's frowned upon in police work...
When I was a young lad in the army, participating in the big NATO maneuver I've mentioned before, the "good guys" were the Norwegians and the "bad guys" were the British.

We had a "battle" where the invading Brits tried to take the hill we were occupying, and failed. The Norwegians on the front line beat them off. Afterwards, we could hear the Norwegian troops singing some sort of victory song.
