Sling Golf wyoming 2007
Mar 1st, 2012, 8:29am

Yeah I know it's taken me 4.5 years to get round to this.
But as far as I can tell by trawling the net - this is still the only actual round of sling golf ever played by more than one person (two teams of three).

I apologise for the giggling idiot doing the filming, lol - I was having fun Smiley

yeah jax - as the only person with a camera. I'm not in any of the pics or videos I took in wyoming.

Oh tell a lie, I did a kind of video blog driving up to and round yellowstone park.
No you shouldn't video and drive at the same time. But what the hell Smiley

Looks like you guys had a great time. Sure would be fun to get a bunch of members together and play a round of golf. That one guy that threw it hard right into the net was pretty good. I've always had a very hard time aiming ammo as light as a golf ball.

lol yeah george (gunsonwheels) did make a great shot.

It is amazing fun, if you have apublic golf course near you, I'd thoroughly recommend having a go.

If necessary take a putter and only sling to the green and then use putter. That way you don't even need the net Smiley

So what goes further?
Shooting with the sling or a good drive with the golf club?

I can sling 300m with a golf ball and only 210 with a club.

well given that in wyoming larry bray sent a golf ball over the end fence of the driving range (directly after the last video clip) - and 5 people swore it was still rising when it went over the fence (3 of them golf club committe members) - so absolute minimum 350 yards. I'd say it depends on the slinger and the golfer.

The fact that we had the traditional sling distance world record holder with us - helped somewhat lol
On balance I'd say a good slinger - with practice and the right sling and technique 'should' beat a good golfer.

But to beat a world class golfer you'll need a world class slinger.

I got bored at a wedding reception that was held in a golf club house.  I rented a few balls and had fun at the driving range for a bit.  I was easily getting 175 yards with a 36 inch sling.  Lots of fun-- a few stares by passers-by Smiley

Good vid!!! C A
