Are there any slinging groups or clubs, competitions or events where people regularly meet? I'm primarily interested in finding something in my own area around Colorado but also curious to know what else might be out there.

Next time I go across the pond I am going to hold you to that.

and what are you waiting for ? hurry up and put this ad in your newspaper ! Be sure to prepare enough slings before And some tennis ball or soft ammo (softer than the beautiful rocks anyway !)

More seriously, I think there was a local SCA branch in south africa, you may try to find some members ? or some archery range ? or bushcrafters ? or... ?

Pikaru and Thud : start by checking what are the requirements for creating a sport club, or a "free association" (I don't know it it exist in the US, but the idea is if you meet regulary with the same people in the same place, you are an association "by facts"... )
Set up a day and hour by week, in a public place but not too much, with tennis ball and a target (something fancifull may be better since it attract the attention) and you sling for like... 2hours. have some slings ready to make people try out, and make the whole thing fun
Don't be a know it all (unless you really know everything about every aspect of slinging... which in unlikely ) and show how much fun it can be to sling ! You can also choose a "dog path", where dogs and their owners walk and take the opportunity to sling their balls for them

Well, at least, that's what I'm doing ^^ and spread out the news ! (that's the point I find the more difficult )

Not at all Carbon, I wrote that because I've never lived in such an area as that as far as I can remember. I would LOVE to have so many sling stones available. But hey I think it's great you sort them by weight too. Hopefully you can learn from all the mistakes us older slingers have made and progress that much faster.  

Anyone in North Carolina? Would be great to start a club but with my line of work and it demands on my time I need a partner in crime.
