Your weapons' unconventional uses!
Feb 13th, 2012, 7:46am

Hallo people!
This is a topic for those of you who make unconventional - and sometimes irriverent - uses of its own weapons.
I wonder if this topic should be moved to the "Other primitive weapons" section, but I think not, for this can turn into a quite funny discussion  Smiley
So here're my experiences:

My FAVOURITE SLING has been also used for:
 - walking my dog;
 - gently whip him when he didn't want to walk;
 - tie some wood.

My SPEAR has been also used for:
 - breaking ice cones that where hanging from the roof.

And what about you?!?!
Greetings,
Mauro.

I've used my fighting stick as a cane, or was it that I used my cane as a fighting stick? http://www.canemasters.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_3_57& ;products_id=304

I was hunting one time and after my ride had drove off and I had crossed a river in my shorts and I as I was putting my hunting pants on the other side, I realized I left both my belt and my quiver back at my house. So I had my knife, Bow and 1/2 dozen arrows, hunting gear, tomahawk, some twine and bankline, and my sling.  Smiley

So I kept one arrow in my bow hand and tied my sling around my waist to hold up my pants to keep me from looking like a "gangsta hunter" and I then tucked the arrows through between my sling and my pants and hunted the morning. So sling as a belt/quiver is probably my most interesting sling use.

I've used my knives for hundreds of things as well of course.

I used a tomahawk stuck in a wall as a handhold and step to scale the wall.

I used my sling as a... sling Roll Eyes
I'm not sure I'm using the right word, but I used it as a shoulder strap to carry my jacket and keep my hand empty ^^

I too have used my fighting staff as a cane or my cane as a fighting staff.  Also, when I come across a stray dog that I'm trying to help I'll use my sling, if the dog will allow it, as a temporary leash.  This has worked several times to help get dogs back to their owners.  Usually I have to give up the sling, but it's worth it to know that a good boy or girl got safely back home.  I don't suppose this is that unusual, but on camping trips and such when there's no can opener I've used my survival knife to open a can.

I have used my sling for lashing a bundle of rivercane to the rack on the top of my car, as a belt for a young lady that forgot hers, for keeping a bundle of fire wood together while I carried it, as a dog leash and as a sash out side my clothes to stick several 'hawks in to let me use my hands and arms to carry something else.

I've used a machete as an impromptu drumstick. I used the back/spine of it to bang against an empty coffee tin to get someone's attention. And no, it was pretty safe.

Usually I do, bk.  I can't remember the exact circumstances that separated me from my p38... it was a long time ago.  I do recall that a big, fat survival knife does make a satisfactory can opener.
   Like Bill, I've also used a sling to help secure things.  In my case it was a big bundle of long bamboo stalks I found on one of our Husky walks. They were much easier to carry once I lashed them together with my sling.

I often use my slings as belts and one time as a tug rope for a heavy sac. My axe as a meat cleaver(also a to make salads), nutcracker and a razorblade(to shave my beard)

used a sling as  a belt.

Not a weapon but the 'tin opener' on my gerber 600 gets used for general purpose 'furtling'.
And while it's never been used to open a tin - it is easily the most used tool on the gerber.

Likewise the bottle opener/screwdriver on my mantis buzzard gets almost as much use as the blade. Again probably 50% of that is general purpose 'furtling'.
