Sounds like fun! I'm from the next county across the Shannon River, i.e. Tipperary. County Clare is absolutely beautiful, with other naturally beautiful sites like the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, the Aran Islands, as well as happening little villages all through the summer for festivals like Lisdoonvarna, Lahinch (surfing), Ennistymon and Doolin (irish trad music), Kilkee (SCUBA diving). If you get a chance, visit the Iron Age fort at Black Head, a few miles west of Ballyvaughan. It's not in as good a shape as the one you mentioned but it is one of my favourite places in Ireland because it's right in the middle of the Burren and looks across to the Aran Island to the west and over Galway Bay to the Twelve Pins mountains in Connemara to the north. If you'd like any tips about Irleand or places to visit, just let me know. I hope you have a wonderful time and that the weather stays fine for your visit. Ta failte romhat! (gaelic. lit. there is a welcome before you). Kevin.
