Sep 8^th, 2011 at 6:41am I dont really carry stones, unless I have a need for them like "attempting" to hunt(which is rare of course, only for backup if I want to use somethin other than my .22 or shotgun)...

Reply #5 - Sep 8^th, 2011 at 7:00am I made it, as I made everything you see in the picture (except the bow) (and the glasses!), even the belt buckle It's not so difficult to do, the most difficult part is to make the leather button, but you can use a wood or bone one, which is much more easy to make. By the way, I've noticed that while putting the pouch on my right side is ok for archery (I've got a knife on the left side, as shown below), it makes slinging difficult, because my main hand is the right one, and the sling may hit the pouch while I use the side arm style.
So I put the pouch on the left side and everything goes ok

Very similar to the possibles bags used in the 1700's and works great for holding sling ammo.

Thanks for the link. Now it's got me thinking about getting something like this. Can't decide if I want a whole haversack, just a stone pouch or something in-between.

I have some genuine 80s fanny/waist packs in several sizes I use. The best is a big one for 6tennis ball sice balls and one a bit smaller for ten good size stones. When I sling I usually place them mid front for easy access and easy reloading. Sometimes I just stuff 4 - 5 stones in the pockets in my jacket (because I`m lazy).
As I often use good size stones this is incredibly un-comfortable and realy impedes slinging Cheesy
