Thread for pics of your SITH slings

Started this up as I've just got my sling from hubert (he doesn't waste any time lol).
Although - typically - I'll be posting the pics later.
It's a serious piece of work with some very interesting aspects.
Particularly like the cord attachment method. Similiar to mine but different.
I'll sticky this thread till all the slings have arrived.

individual details.
Have to admit it's one of the best quality slings I've got.
My only issue with it is that it's another of those designs with about six inches of spare cord above the grip point.
Never have been able to find a comfortable grip for using this type sling, the extra cord just gets in the way every time. So while I'll definitely take it out for a test spin - it'll be mainly used to demonstrate just how much time and effort some people spend on making a really quality sling.
Kind of feel sorry for hubert too as he's going to get one of mine in return.
I'll make an extra effort but it's never going to be a fraction of the workmanship quality of this one.
Have to admit I'm seriously contemplating cutting the release cord at the right point and adding something to grip. Such a nice sling. Dunno whether to keep it as it is or modify so I can use it lol
Actually it's interesting that the leather is there to protect the release cord from being hit by ammo. I've never seen wear at this point on any of my slings - so maybe it's a result of having the extra length on the release cord ?

it is, isn't it
hence my dilemma - do I modify it to make it aregular useage sling or leave it as it is for a 'get a load of the workmanship on this one' deal.

C_A it would be nothing short of a tragedy to not let that sling see use.

Agreed, modify it to use it. A sling is just a piece of string unless it's being used. Have you thought about sewing a leather tab onto the end where you want to grip the sling... or unbraiding to that point, tying an overhand knot, and then trimming off the excess? Both would look fine with the rest of the sling, IMHO.

Massi - WTF? It's called a sling. You use it to throw rocks farther and faster than you could otherwise. That's all.

C_A you can easily shorten the sling.important thing is to make a new wrap knot and then with beeswax or saddlerwax permanently attached.

I picked up my sling from Dan today.
It's slightly under 2/3 of a meter (2 feet to us Americans) and pretty beefy. Dan called it an Orc Sling in the letter that come with it. The whole thing is jet black with what looks like a full grain (yet still supple) cow hide pouch, braided black nylon cords, and (I think) some dabs of glue wrapped with artificial sinew whipping for structural reinforcement. This sling looks like it could stand up to even C_A's throwing and not break, plus it has some killer style (pun intended).

I'm shamefully late in sending my sling to Rockman.
I can't find the thread about SITH, so I'm writing it here: Rockman, I'm going to send it next Monday!
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!!!!!
Great slings by the way!
Greetings,
Mauro.

SITH is the acronym for "sling in the hat." It's a big organized trade that we've done twice a year for a year and a half, now. And these are the slings we're getting in the mail from our current round of trading.
