Here's what I made today, I started knapping a magnifying glass having never tried that before, but I found it tricky for some reason to get long flakes off of and after working it down for some time I ended up with a long skinny point that I decided to try making my first ever ishi point from with a teardrop notch. Having never done a teardrop notch and definitely needing a finer pointed notching tool so I can stop clipping the points of the notching widening the entry...grr...I think I did a decent job I guess. The other ishi point, (my favorite even though the entry is pretty wide on this one,) is one I made from a rainbow obsidian slab I was sent by Shoalhunter as part of a pith trade. I had never worked a slab before but I didn't find I had any problems with working one, when I got it all cleared with flakes on both sides it just looked right for an ishi point like from the magnifying glass so I went for it with that one as well.
Let me know what you think of em, any tips on doing the teardrop notching would be great!
And a special THANKS to SHOALHUNTER of
