I agree -  novel, amusing and slightly quirky, and appropriate to slinging.  Smiley The only thing possibly against it is that people generally don't know the hierachy of these ranks (me included).

I`d say that novel, amusing and slightly quirky would be great names for the lower ranks Cheesy

I like the way you think, timann! Cheesy

I like Eoraptor's idea about latin ranks, especially because they don't look military to the casual observer.

I agree that it is a good idea. I have the same concern as Aussie though. It may be that our newer members don't even realize there is any titles unless they happen to be fluent in Latin.

lmao - look if so many of you objected to the term god member - why didn't anyone say anything ?

You know I;m tempted to add an extra category above 1000 just to see how many toys get thrown out of the pram this time  Grin
But given the very few members who hang around long enough to actually reach a 1000 posts. Probably not worth it in the long run. Most of us are mods or ex-mods anyway Smiley

Have to admit I like the latin terms - so for now that's what it's going to be with giant killer in english.

And if new members don't know what it means - they can either ask or look it up Smiley
Since when did we not encourage the acquisition of knowlege round here ?

Dang, I always fancied the title of "God" here, but I'm all for change every now and then.

Not really a fan of giant killer, but roman names would work. Though I'd like some words thrown in somewhere like "Royal, Buccaneer". Not really full of ideas right now, just positive I'd prefer not to be "giant killer". Maybe a "Samurai" rank? (I've got 13 assassins stuck in my head now, as well as pirates".

Will we be keeping the current system of 1000+ all get a title, 500-999 a title, so on, or vary it up even more?
I'd like it if there were more changes from 1000 up, since there are people here who have 3000 up, albeit very, very few, probably counted on one hand if I took the time to check.

Liking the new names, though not quote as humbling as other forums have like weak-sauce or tinder gatherer they still fit the bill. Smiley

I think their are pretty cool. You might want to put some kind of note  or somthing up so we don't have begginers constantly asking us what Novicius means.  Wink

im not a big fan of the latin names. i would rther have a name system such as relating to the styles of slinging
with underhand, overhand, helicopter, byzantine, balaeric, figure 8... and so son and so on.

But that wouldn´t really illustrate the levels; why rate helicopter  higher or lower than byzantine, for instance.
I like my current title of funditor, and the idea of the latin names is fine by me.
That said, why the "Giant killer"? It is not in style with the rest and I find it personally a bit...cheesy?
