Another excellent ammo Hondero! Are these the same dimension holes as the H-1?
We have bad weather,no tests for me Sad

Just made my first H2 (I think). Drilled golf ball. No washers. Totally guessed at dimensions, and it worked! Then I lost it in the tall grass, but not before my daughter captured the action on video.

Thank you Hondero, for a truly groundbreaking addition to all of our ammo collections.

Congratulations, Matt! , your H2 sounds great. It´s gratifying to hear it thrown by another slinger  Smiley

Nice whistling sound, also sounds quite continous. Cheesy
So far mine sound like loud cicada. Probably my best was made of clay as all the others and had 9mm holes in it,18mm deep and washers with 4.3mm holes on them.It had 14 holes on it,and i could hear it very clear all the way,i slung it to distance uphill about 130m.

Sounds like yours works well, jlasud, and it sounds like you have good hearing  Smiley. My longest throw was only about 60 meters, and I could barely hear it at the end. My hearing is pretty poor, though.

I was also out in the country with no background noise. And now that i think about it,smaller balls must have faster rotational speed, thus a more continuous sound than my bigger than golf ball ones.

I think this is from an old Biggles story so I can't vouch for the truth of it.  According to the story empty bottles dropped from altitude make a lot of noise.  If correct one could mimick this a bit by putting a hole in the back of the gland.  One would need to use something like that pulled overhead style which spins the projectile so it behaves like a rifle bullet, the sling presents the sides of the pocket to the target, rather than the front or back, just before release.  Another way would be to, sacrifice some more energy and attach a ribbon to the back so one could use any old style and the projectile would still move through the air point first.
Another way which was nearly suggested above may work.  Make a small bolas which can be thrown from a sling but use two cords to attach the two weights, if one can get the weights to seperate in flight ( ideally spin for tension, how I don't know ) then the two cords may vibrate together like vocal cords.
I've found the roughest rocks to be the loudest.  Coating with very rough gravel and throwing with heavy spin is pretty much bound to buzz.  I, too, found oblongs to be fairly loud, maybe some of the platonic solids would be worth a try.  Four faced triangles have sharper edges than cubeoids, if it's due to that, or dodecahedrons have more edges if it's that.  If one relies on spin energy the construction of a fipple may be worth a shot.  Or a panpipe type projectile which looks a bit like a WW1 mine ( like some of the pictures above but make the pipes protude).
Nice topic, lots of play potential.  Good sounds on the vid and you were brave with that camera.

Very cool sounds! Cheesy the pipes are interesting ,the stones are more terrifying.
It's interesting how the irregular stones here, where i live, are differently shaped and make a different type of noise.

That was awesome, they sounded like like speeders from Star Wars or something along those lines.

i have found that the curved edges of broken plates hum while flying and do ridiculous damage to animals. so does broken glass- however both can cut your sling lines unless you use chain like i do.

Welcome!  I must see pictures of this sling made from chains, it sounds pretty 'midevil', but I would think it'd be painfull when it comes around.  Huh

Be very carefull slinging glass and I would really really suggest you not sling glass at animals.
