Sling in a survival guide for boys

I found this by coincidence. It's called "101 Wilderness Survival Tips for Boys" by Chris McNab, 2008.
The sling is identical to the one in Lofty Wiseman's SAS survival manual from 1986 and not of great use, imo.

Pretty cool, Fundibularius. One should know how simple and easy it is to have this viable weapon, especially if you find yourself in a survival situation. Of course one wouldn't achieve great accuracy quickly, but it could be used to bring down birds in a flock.

I am glad the sling is getting more popular but that pouch is so tiny and their description of the helicopter style was typical; "spin the slingshot around your head many times and when it is moving
very
fast let go of the realese cord." This is usually a bad idea as the faster your sling is going the less control you will have over the realses.

I was pretty good at slinging like 10 years ago.

That's interesting, sobieski! Which edition of the manual is it? I got the one from 1986 (reprint 1990). Is the Czech text completely identical to the English?

Czech text is completely identical to the English, but the page is different. Publication year 2002
