My tribe of
Norwegian Apaches made our bows back in the .70s by cutting an ash/yew/hazel sapling, whittling the thicker half a bit thinner/flatter on the side pointing back toward us, cutting a notch in each end, making a loop in a nylon/poly string, looping it over one notch, bending the bow and tying the other end of the string to the other notch.
They sucked, but was primitive
Our sapling arrows was worse, we cut them fresh and straight so they could dry into curves by themselves
